The cycling community of Hyderabad has come together under the banner "Cheemalu Cyclists union" to voice the common problems faced by cyclists and to uplift their livelihood. Cheemalu means ants in Telugu, the word Cheemalu reflects hard work. People move in and around the city for their daily wages/needs here and there. Hence the name "Cheemalu/Ants".
Volunteers of HCR have been given reflective stickers to stick onto the cycles of these livelihood cyclists. This makes the cyclist visible during the night and early morning hours of their commute. The team conducts special rides to speak to them and hand over the stickers.
